Floral and fragrant with red berries and rosewater on the palate and underlying mineral acidity.

The fruit from this vineyard has been making still and fortified Muscat wines for generations, but we thought it would work if we put an interesting spin on it. With all of our Pet Nats, we want the juice to have generous aromas and mid-palate weight - to balance the dryness and savouriness of the Pet Nat style - and this fruit had just the right balance.

After beginning wild fermentation in tanks and barrels the still fermenting juice is transferred to bottles, where the yeast finishes consuming the last of the sugar and releases carbon dioxide which, trapped in the bottle, creates the fizz in the wine.

The Moscato Rosa has lifted floral aromas, flavours of rose water and lychee on the palate, with a hint of biscuit developing in the bottle from the yeast sediment. Strap it to the bike, headed for your next garden party.

FUN FACT: Pet Nat is short for Petillant Naturel and means naturally bubbly in French. After the yeast cells finish the fermentation they precipitate out of the liquid to form a fine sediment in the bottom of the bottle. You can either pour the clear wine without disturbing the sediment, or mix it up and enjoy the full rich experience. Choose your own adventure.
