WHAT’S HAPPENING
Glad you asked.
Winemaking season is here and for the first time everyone can get involved with free hands-on tours, live music, great food and (of course) wine.
Let the smell of fermentation guide you towards our bustling inner-city winery during our busiest time of year. Grapes will be arriving from all around the state, to be de-MOGed (that’s a thing*), stomped, fermented and pressed by the Noisy Ritual winemakers with the help of our rowdy members. We’ll be in full production mode and you’ll have the chance to get right amongst the action too. BYO smocks.

WHEN & WHERE
Sat 4 March - Sat 8 April
Noisy Ritual - 249 Lygon St, Brunswick East

DETAILS

HANDS-ON WINEMAKING TOURS

Drop in (6pm-8pm Wed-Fri) to meet Noisy Ritual founders Alex & Cam for a free tour: smell, touch and taste the fermenting grapes, learn about the winemaking process and GET INVOLVED! We’ll need some help to take measurements, plunge the fermenting grapes and a bunch of other things. This is the only time of year where you can experience this crucial part of the winemaking process in action.

LIVE MUSIC

Every Saturday we’re hosting a great live act - all shows are free!  (click link for Facebook event page)
Sat 4 March - Opening Night: Infamous one-man-band Bob Log III will blow the doors wide open
Sat 11 March: Jess Ribeiro

Sat 8 April - Closing night: Marty Frawley (Twerps) first ever solo show

WINE BAR & CELLAR DOOR

We're extending our hours: Wednesdays through Sundays we’ll be introducing our 2016 vintage to the world! Try all the wines that began their journey 12 months ago, alongside a bunch of other delicious wines, tasting flights, craft beers, cider and great vibes.
We need your help to eat all the cheese! Try our newly expanded menu or order delicious pizzas from our good friends at Mankoushe up the road.

WORKSHOPS (Members only)
Saturday and Sunday workshops will be exclusive to our Noisy Ritual Members. Each Member follows one of the batches all the way through. Surrounded by likeminded folk, they stomp the grapes, press the wine and bottle it – all in a relaxed, fun and inclusive environment. Three educational, social, fun and rowdy workshops, and a whole lot of amazing wine to be created and enjoyed. They’re almost sold out, but if there are any left they can be found at noisyritual.com.au/memberships

BACKGROUND

In the last two years we’ve undertaken a rite of passage. Outgrowing a Thornbury basement, moving through a Preston pop up and settling into a permanent, grown-up Noisy Ritual HQ in East Brunswick. And we managed to do this while creating some delicious wines with some first-rate humans. Best of all, since opening the doors to Melbourne’s first people-powered urban winery we’ve introduced hundreds of people to the joys of winemaking, close to home.

Here’s the whole story.

*De-MOG-ed is the process we use to prepare the grapes for fermentation. Basically we take out anything that’s not delicious and leave the premium grapes to do their thing. (MOG = Matter Other than Grapes)
